A small isolated coastal village and fishing community on the Atlantic coast of the Costa de la Luz just a few kilometres north of Tarifa.

Windsurfers and sunbathers alike will definitely enjoy its fine sandy beaches, considered by many as the best on the entire coast. Nowadays the town is becoming very popular among young surfers and travellers, especially during the summer months. Bolonia is cheap, lively and has some of the best all-night beach parties on the coast.

Three things to not to be missed on your visit:

1. View Baelo Claudio from the nearest chiringuito: Sitting at a typical Spanish beach bar enjoying a cool beer with the stunning ruins of Baelo Claudia on the right and the Caribbean waters of the beach on the left. Things don't get much better....

2. Sunbathe in the nip: the left hand side of the beach at Bolonia is in fact a nudist beach. The word embarrassment is not part of this area's lingo, and the people who come here have obviously been doing it for years.

3. Sunday lunch at La Semilla: if you're looking for a place to simply chill out and spend a few days in direct contact with nature, this is the spot you're looking for. It's made up of two buildings; one is a restaurant, which only opens on Sundays and the other is an activity room for the many different courses they organise, cookery, pottery, environmental etc. La Semilla: El Realillo s/n, Bolonia, 11380 Tarifa Tel: 956 236 753 www.lasemilla.ourproject.org
