A small, unspoiled village on the windswept Costa de la Luz.

It boasts some of the most spectacular beaches on the coast, backed by pine trees and cliffs. The town itself is perched on the cliff-tops, and is fast waking up to a reputation as one of the trendiest spots to be seen in. Caños is cool...

Caños de Meca - Costa de la Luz

Three things not to be missed on your next visit:

1. Eat at 'El Pirata': This reasonable restaurant, overlooking the beach offers great seafood dishes and the most spectacular views over the sea that you can find.

2. Watch the sunset from Cape Trafalgar: Climb up the hill below the lighthouse, get comfortable and watch the sun set into the sea before heading back to the town for dinner. It's very close to the town of Caños de Meca, and its lighthouse has protected shipping for centuries. It was precisely here Admiral Nelson attacked and destroyed the Spanish fleet.

3. Get underwater: For all of you who are into adventure sports, check out the scuba diving on the beaches in and around Caños de Meca. However, make sure you go with a guide as there are some very strong currents in this part of the coast.
