a peaceful day on the beach
A large number of watchtowers line the coast of Roche. In the old days they used a smoke and fire system to warn the neighbouring villages and towns against danger. Some of these towers, especially those of Castilnovo, Guzmán, La Atalaya, Roche or El Puerco are well worth visiting as they have remained practically intact over the years. The Roche beaches are quite small but most of them have managed to remain unspoiled. The coast lining Roche also has dozens of little coves, where both residents and tourists alike enjoy a peaceful day on the beach.
