Roche is relatively unknown to most tourists, probably due to the fact that this urban development is actually quite new - only 30 years old, and quite small as well, with 8,651 inhabitants. Nevertheless, it is extremely varied as it boasts stunning beaches, spectacular countryside and the town on its own is quite picturesque. Until recent times, its inhabitants lived mainly from agriculture, and still do although to a lesser extent. Nowadays, tourism has given a boost to the town, as more and more people are discovering the delights of this peaceful hideaway.
